PROYECTOS DE INTERNACIONALIZACIÓN: ETWINNING EN EL COLEGIO SANTA MARÍA LA NUEVA Y SAN JOSÉ ARTESANO (BURGOS)

Towards an education for European citizenship.

Internationalization Projects: eTwinning at Santa María la Nueva and San José Artesano School (Burgos)

En el Colegio Diocesano Santa María la Nueva y San José Artesano de Burgos gestionado por la Institución Teresiana se llevan desarrollando e impulsando diferentes proyectos europeos desde hace varios años. En Secundaria y Bachillerato tenemos en este momento dos proyectos ERASMUS y en Formación Profesional se promueve la Formación en Centros de Trabajo de algunos alumnos, bajo el paragüas de los proyectos ERASMUS.

In the Diocesan School of Santa María la Nueva and San José Artesano in Burgos, run by the Teresian Institution, different European projects have been developed and promoted for several years. Currently we are taking part in two ERASMUS projects in Secondary and Baccalaureate and in Vocational Training students are involved in Training placements in Work Centres, under the umbrella of ERASMUS projects.

Queremos compartir la experiencia de trabajo que realizamos en la Etapa de Infantil y Primaria que tiene como perspectiva el caminar dando pasos para el aprendizaje de la ciudadanía europea a través de los Programas eTwinning.

We want to share the experiences learnt from the work carried out in the Infant and Primary Stage, the aim of which is to take steps towards learning about European citizenship through the eTwinning Programmes.

El programa eTwinning es una iniciativa de la Comisión Europea encaminada a promover el establecimiento de hermanamientos escolares y el desarrollo de proyectos de colaboración a través de Internet entre dos o más centros escolares de países europeos diferentes sobre cualquier tema del ámbito escolar acordado por los participantes.

The eTwinning programme is an initiative of the European Commission aimed at promoting the establishment of school twinning and the development of collaborative projects through the Internet between two or more schools in different European countries on any subject of the school environment agreed upon by the participants.

eTwinning nació en 2005 como una iniciativa del Programa de aprendizaje eLearning de la Comisión Europea y desde el 2014 forma parte de Erasmus+.

eTwinning was born in 2005 as an initiative of the eLearning Learning Programme of the European Commission and since 2014 is part of Erasmus +.

Desde el curso 14-15 nuestro Centro viene participando en distintos proyectos con otros colegios europeos, lo que ha permitido a nuestros alumnos, no sólo desarrollar y reforzar sus destrezas en inglés, sino que también les ha ayudado en el conocimiento de otras culturas para aprender a respetarlas y valorarlas. Además, gracias a estos proyectos han conocido a nuevos “amigos” y han tenido la oportunidad de identificar las similitudes y diferencias entre niños de su misma edad ayudándoles a ser más tolerantes.

Since 2014-15 our Centre has been participating in different projects with other European schools, which has allowed our students not only to develop and strengthen their English skills, but also has helped them to learn about other cultures and to learn to respect and value them. In addition, thanks to these projects they have met new "friends" and have had the opportunity to identify the similarities and differences between children of the same age, helping them to be more tolerant.

Los proyectos en los que han participado nuestros alumnos de primaria estos años han sido los siguientes:

The projects in which our elementary students have participated these years have been the following:

El Proyecto Art in Europe(2017-18) en el que los alumnos exploraron en el trabajo de diferentes artistas europeos e intercambiaron sus representaciones de las obras de cada uno de los artistas propuestos.

The Art in Europe Project (2017-18) in which the students explored the work of different European artists and exchanged their representations of the works of each of the proposed artists

En el Proyecto Zero Waste(2017-19) los alumnos han colaborado con muchos colegios de Europa investigando sobre la contaminación y se han compartido e intercambiado ideas y trabajos sobre soluciones para cambiar el planeta. El producto final se relacionó con el Proyecto de la Jornada de la Solidaridad que se realizó en el Centro. Han participado alumnos de 5º y 6º de Primaria.

In the Zero Waste Project (2017-19) students have collaborated with many schools in Europe investigating pollution and have shared and exchanged ideas and work on solutions to change the planet. The final product was related to the Project of the Solidarity Day which was held in our school. Students of 5th and 6th grade of Primary participated.

El Proyecto WiderHorizons(2015-19) fomenta el hacer amigos con niños de otros países aprendiendo sobre lo que se tiene en común o diferente. En él han colaborado alumnos de 5º y 6º y 1º y 2º de Primaria. Se aprende a ser amable con los demás a través de la comunicación. Para ello se ha mantenido correspondencia para presentarse, explicar cómo es su ciudad, felicitarse las fiestas con distintos Centros educativos de Reino Unido, Berkhamsted Preparatory School, St Philips Ce Primary School, y Buxton Infant School y East Wikham Primary Academy.

The WiderHorizons Project (2015-19) encourages the making of friends with children from other countries by learning about what is shared or different. Students of 5th and 6th and 1st and 2nd of Primary are involved in this project. They learn to be nice to others through communication. To this end, correspondence has been maintained to introduce themselves, to explain how their city is, to send good wishes on important dates on the calendar between different educational centres in the United Kingdom; Berkhamsted Preparatory School, St Philips CE Primary School, Buxton Infant School and East Wikham Primary Academy.

El último proyecto es Getting Closer Through Celebrations (2018-19)Tiene como objetivo ampliar el conocimiento de los alumnos sobre otras culturas mientras comparten las festividades que se dan en sus países de origen. En el proyecto los alumnos de 4º de Primaria han trabajado en las Fiestas que se celebran en Burgos y las han plasmado a través de murales, posters y fotografías. Ha sido un trabajo intenso pero muy gratificante. El proyecto se hace con Portugal, Francia y Turquía.

The last project is Getting Closer Through Celebrations (2018-19). It aims to expand students' knowledge about other cultures while sharing the festivities that take place in their countries of origin. In the project the students of 4th Primary have worked on the Festivals that are celebrated in Burgos and have illustrated them through murals, posters and photographs. It has been an intense but very rewarding project working with schools in Portugal, France and Turkey.

En definitiva los Proyectos eTwinning integran el aprendizaje de contenidos curriculares con el desarrollo de unas competencias claves, sirviéndose para ello de las nuevas tecnologías. Mejoran la competencia comunicativa y escrita en lengua inglesa y el trabajo colaborativo. Son altamente motivadores porque despiertan la curiosidad por otros idiomas y culturas, fomentan la lectoescritura, sirven para compartir experiencias, costumbres, curiosidades y fomentan los valores de la responsabilidad y del compromiso.

In short, the eTwinning Projects integrate the learning of curricular contents with the development of key competences, using new technologies for this purpose. They improve communicative and written competence in English and collaborative work. They are highly motivating because they awaken curiosity in other languages and cultures, promote literacy, serve to share experiences, customs, curiosities and promote the values of responsibility and commitment.

Nuestra apuesta educativa por la ciudanía, en este tiempo que vivimos a nivel social, es muy necesaria y creadora de diálogo y conocimiento de tantas personas diferentes construyendo la casa común de Europa.

Our educational commitment to citizenship on a social level, in the times in which we live, is very necessary and creative dialogue and knowledge of so many different people building the common house of Europe.
